East Cheyenne is committed to business practices that proactively protect the environment and meet all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Both during and after construction, East Cheyenne will carefully monitor its work to ensure the environment is preserved and protected. Environmental resources under consideration include, but are not limited to:
- Air Quality
- Biological Resources (wetlands, aquifers, groundwater, water bodies, plants and animals)
- Cultural Resources
- Geology and Soils
- Threatened and Endangered Species
- Public Services and Utilities
- Visual Resources
- Land Use
- Agriculture and Recreation
- Noise and Vibration
- Population and Housing
- Transportation and Traffic
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is the regulatory agency with the primary responsibility for reviewing the proposed project pursuant to Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act (NGA) and Section 157.5, et seq., of the Commission’s regulations under the NGA. Other agencies which may have regulatory authority over Project activities include:
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
- Colorado State Historic Preservation Office
- Colorado Division of Wildlife
- Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission
- Colorado Department of Health and Environment
- State of Colorado Division of Water Resources
- Logan County Planning Commission
- Logan County Department of Planning and Development
